Mia in Wonderland

When Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland came out earlier this year, I was mesmerized.  It really is an amazing film, full of spectacular visuals, not the least of which is Mia Wasikowska as Alice.  Disney's animated Alice was always sweet, but come on... she's a little girl.  This Alice is all growed up!  Sure, she doesn't smile much, but there's something incredibly sexy about her, especially when she starts to shrink and that dress just falls right off her!

Alice in D23 Land

At last year's D23 Expo, they had a whole setup to promote the upcoming Alice in Wonderland film by Tim Burton.  It had something to do with a Tea Party, and all kinds of kids and adults seemed interested in participating.  Of course, I was mostly just interested in chatting up this girl in the Alice costume.  I thought, "Wow, if Alice is going to be portrayed all grown up and gorgeous like her, I'll be first in line to buy a ticket!"

Them Again

Okay, so have I teased it enough?  You Again comes out today.  I'll definitely be going to see it.  Hopefully, you will too!  And don't worry, for as much as Kristen and Odette's characters seem to fight in the movie, this picture indicates they probably reconcile in the end.  Some might call that a spoiler.  Others would call it predictable.  I call it one more chance to see two beautiful Disney Girls.

Gettin' Dirty

In You Again, Marni (Kristen Bell) and Joanna (Odette Yustman) face off as bitter rivals.  I love Disney Girls when they're sweet, but it's also fun when they're naughty.  Can you say "Catfight!"?  I don't know what Odette is pouring over Kristen here, but it looks cold and wet... and I bet they're both about to get covered in it.  Maybe they'll even wrestle in it all over the floor!  Maybe they'll let me lick it off of them... okay, maybe not.  Nice thought, though, huh?

Disney Moms

I really dislike the term MILF.  Maybe it's because I prefer younger women - Disney Girls if you will - but I find the expression really distasteful.  Since I recognize, though, that some guys like the more mature hotties, today I give you the moms of You Again: Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver.  They do look nice in those matching pink dresses.  Turns out, they had a similar rivalry in school as their daughters.  Funny stuff ensues.
Of course, the funniest stuff in You Again comes courtesy of that forever young at heart Disney Gal, Betty White.  You gotta love her, and you know she's "on Facebook now... and the Twitter!"

Who's That Girl?

Admittedly, I had never heard of Odette Yustman before I started seeing trailers for You Again.  I'm catching up fast, though, especially after seeing her strut in a cheerleader uniform in the movie.  She kinda plays the villain, so she doesn't really smile a lot, but that's okay.  She can stare me down any time.
The picture at the top is Odette as Disney Girl in You Again.  These others are stuff I found online.  Nice.

Ring My Bell

The movie You Again comes out this Friday.  Technically, it's from Touchstone Pictures, but that's part of Disney, so I'll count it... if only so I can officially consider Kristen Bell a Disney Girl.  I've loved how she plays the "smart blond" ever since she was in Veronica Mars, and last year's rom-com When in Rome was mostly tolerable because of her.
In You Again, she plays a character named Marni who discovers that her brother is about to marry the girl who was her chief rival in high school.  That character is played by Odette Yustman, who's pretty sexy in her own right, but more on her later in the week.
Today, let's just bask in the glow of Kristen Bell.  She's always dreamy, whether you prefer sunny and sweet in the yellow sweater above... or a Fanboys' fantasy in her Slave Leia bikini below.  Take your pick!

Wild Kittens

Let's finish this week's trip through Hollywood Studios where it began, with High School Musical.  Unfortunately, the latest version of that show doesn't include cheerleaders, but it still features lots of hot (dare I say, sexy) costumes for the girls.  I especially appreciate the short skirts, knee socks, leggings and that pleather bustier number!  Here's hoping the Disney Channel Rocks show that replaces this next month has just as much eye candy.

Hey Howdy Hey Christina

Okay, so I was already stuffed from the corn dog Casey sold me at the Herbie cart yesterday, but then I wandered down to the Pixar area of the Studios and came across Christina.  How could I resist that smile?  Right away, I got another urge to buy something.  This time it was popcorn.  And when she sprinkled on a cute little latin accent, she was even able to upsell me on one of those lame souvenir buckets that end up in a dusty corner of the garage.  That's okay, though.  It was worth it just to get to talk to (okay, flirt with) her for a few minutes.

Hi Casey!

You ever find yourself walking through a Disney park and suddenly have the urge to buy a snack... not because you're hungry, but because there's a cute girl behind the counter!  Meet Casey, who I found working at the Herbie snack cart at Hollywood Studios.  She's on the Disney college program and normally goes to Indian River Community College in Florida.  Until she has to go back, though, I'll be happy to make Herbie's a regular stop for a corn dog, frozen lemonade or whatever it is she's selling!

Alyssa's a Star

Everywhere you go at Disney, you find the Photopass Photographers.  Thankfully, they aren't pushy like the ones at other theme parks.  They're mostly there to take your picture only if you want it, and they're easily sidestepped if you don't.  If you run into Alyssa at Hollywood Studios, though, you'll want to stop.  She's cute and fun... and can take my picture any time!

Vroom! Vroom!

A few years ago when the Cars movie came out, I thought it would be fun to see the movie and then go over to Disney-MGM Studios to see Lightning McQueen and Mater "in person."  Boy, was that a good idea!  As a special event to commemorate the movie release, they had the Rust-eze Roller Girls who used to only be in the parade come out for pictures.

There were lots of cute poses with the kids, but the scene also attracted a fair number of dads and other guys (like yours truly), drawn to the little carhop costumes.  The girls wore nametags that said things like Molly, Maggie and Mandy.  Those probably weren't their real names, but who cares?!  They looked so good in those outfits, it's no wonder Lightning McQueen is grinning so much!

High School Cheerleaders

The High School Musical shows seem like they've been running at Hollywood Studios and California Adventure forever.  Some might consider that a bad thing.  Even I can't get some of those songs out of my head now.  I say, though, that it's all good as long as they keep giving us pretty girls in peppy cheerleader uniforms.

Go Wildcats!

I'm Weisz-ing

Snow White drew the attention of all the forest creatures and seven little men with her singing voice, housekeeping skills and delicious gooseberry pie.  I don't know how good Rachel Weisz is at any of those things, but she sure is a looker in this final Annie Liebovitz shot of the week.

Then again, maybe all those critters are trying to do is to get her to introduce them to Brendan Fraser.  Animals!

A Whole New Girl

This shot is, admittedly, not among my favorites of the Liebovitz photos.  Nothing against J Lo (or Marc Antony for that matter).  It's just that no flesh and blood representation could hold a candle to the representation of Jasmine in Disney's 1992 animated feature.  I mean, seriously!  Look at her...

Jess' Around the River Bend

Here's another Annie Liebovitz subject who hasn't really done anything else for the Mouse.  Jessica Biel makes an interesting model as Pocahontas, though, and in this shot poor John Smith is stuck back on the ship.  Too bad for him.  She looks great in that get-up.  Who cares about historical inaccuracy.  Jessica's all fantasy!

Beyonce in Wonderland

In today's Annie Liebovitz photo, Beyonce steps into the role of Alice, spinning wildly in a Wonderland teacup with a couple of weird dudes (Lyle Lovett and Oliver Platt).  To the best of our knowledge, this photo is about the only thing that could qualify Miss Knowles as a Disney Girl, but it counts.

Beyonce is multi-talented and a bit of a chameleon.  She's constantly changing her look and style.  No matter if she's demure as Alice or randy as Foxxy Cleopatra, we still love her.

ScarJo Is a Wish Your Heart Makes

This week, we rediscovered the series of pictures shot a few years ago by celebrity photographer Annie Liebovitz.  We can't remember what Disney marketing campaign these were supposed to be part of, but what does stick with us is the stunning imagery of beautiful movie stars made up as some of our favorite Disney characters (okay, a couple of them weren't all that beautiful, but we'll just skip over those entries).

In this one, it's Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella.  That dress makes her look pretty spectacular.  Then again, we could enjoy seeing Scarlett in just about anything... like her Black Widow costume from Iron Man 2, for example.  Just sayin'...

Look at Me, I Put a Gleam in Your Eye

We've been basking in Demi's glow all weekend, with multiple airings of Camp Rock 2 on Disney Channel (and our DVR).  The film is a lot of fun and features plenty of great music.  The best part, though, has easily been Miss Lovato.  Her voice has such a warm, delicious tone, it just melts over you.  It's almost enough to make you forget that Joe Jonas is even there... and didn't they break up anyway?

Well, regardless of her social status, we look forward to seeing and hearing much more from this Disney Girl in the future!

Show Me - Show Me - Show Me

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam premieres tonight at 8:00 ET on Disney Channel.  Although the Jo Bros are cool and all, I'm most looking forward to catching up with Mitchie Torres, the character played by Demi Lovato.

Demi has been performing since she was a kid, appearing in "Barney & Friends," but it was the first Camp Rock in 2008 that really gave her the big break.  Since then, roles in Princess Protection Program and "Sonny with a Chance" have cemented her status as a Disney Girl.

The best thing about Demi is that she has so many sides.  She has an amazing voice as a singer, but she's also a terrific actress.  She can be glam and gorgeous one minute and completely goofy the next.

Demi also seems to be well-grounded and a total sweetheart.  She turned 18 August 20, and what did she do to celebrate?  She bought her family a new house!  Now, how great is that?

Monkeying Around

Meet Stephanie.  She's an animal presenter at Disney's Animal Kingdom park in Florida.  On a recent visit to the park, she and I talked at length about gibbons and siamangs, two species of lesser ape native to Asia.  To be honest, she did most of the talking.  I was captivated by her freckles and probably came off sounding like an idiot when she asked me a question.  It didn't matter, though.  She was more than hospitable... and completely adorable.

A Real Slice... of Heaven

Today's girl is the inimitable Megera from Disney's Hercules.  There's no one as spunky, sassy or just plain sexy as Meg.  Whether she's blowing off the advances of Wonder Boy or working her charms to reel him in, she's always got plenty of appeal.

Meg has been portrayed in the parks from time to time, but while those girls are certainly fetching, there's just something special about the animated original.  It's how she's drawn, how she moves and the way Susan Egan's voice purrs from her lips.  She's a damsel.  She's in distress.  She can handle this.  Have a nice day!
